As the days passed and Tsukina continued her training, her abilities only grew more powerful—and more dangerous. Under Ryuu and Jayce’s guidance, she learned to manipulate her peacock feathers with incredible precision. At first, she could only send them flying toward targets like arrows, but soon she discovered that she could control them in midair, making them bend and chase a target. This technique became known as Feather Fury, and it quickly became one of her most lethal skills.
One evening, as she trained alone with Ryuu, they decided to test the limits of Feather Fury. Ryuu set up multiple moving targets across the field, challenging her to take them out one by one.
"Alright," he called out, standing a safe distance away. "Let’s see how fast you can take them all down. Don’t hold back."
Tsukina nodded, her expression focused as she summoned a cluster of feathers from her forearms. The bright, iridescent colors shimmered in the moonlight as they hovered in the air, waiting for her command.
With a flick of her wrist, the feathers shot out in every direction, slicing through the air like missiles. They chased the moving targets relentlessly, turning corners and weaving through obstacles. The moment they made contact, the feathers exploded with a violent force, sending shock waves across the training field. The targets were obliterated, each one engulfed in a brilliant display of light and fire.
Ryuu shielded his eyes from the brightness, a grin forming on his face. "Impressive. You’ve definitely gotten stronger. Feather Fury is devastating when you use it like that."
Tsukina let out a breath, sweat trickling down her brow as she lowered her arms. "It’s exhausting, though," she admitted. "I need to work on controlling the explosions so they don’t drain me so fast."
Ryuu approached her, his gaze serious but encouraging. "You will. The more you practice, the more control you’ll gain. Just don’t let your emotions get the better of you."
His words, though well-intentioned, reminded her of the mist. That uncontrollable force lurking within her, waiting for the moment when her emotions ran wild.
One evening, after a particularly exhausting training session, the mist appeared unexpectedly. It happened fast. One minute, Tsukina was calm, focusing on her feather work, and the next, she was overwhelmed by a flood of emotions she couldn’t control. Anger sparked inside her—fueled by frustration from her slow progress—and suddenly, the dark mist began swirling around her, thick and oppressive.
"No... not now...," she muttered, backing away as the mist curled up her legs, her voice filled with panic.
Ryuu reacted immediately, rushing toward her. "Tsukina! Breathe! You can control this!" he shouted, trying to cut through her fear with his calm voice.
But the mist only grew stronger as Tsukina’s panic deepened. It lashed out, and she fell to the ground, gasping for air. Her mind was racing, the mist choking her senses.
Suddenly, Jayce arrived with Rose and Angel, who rushed to Tsukina's side. Angel held a small amulet in her hand, glowing faintly with an eerie light. "This is from tori" Angel said softly as she knelt beside Tsukina. "She received it from Lilith. It will help you. You have to trust me."
Angel pressed the amulet into Tsukina’s palm, and the mist receded slightly, though Tsukina’s body still trembled with the residual fear.
Ryuu helped Tsukina sit up as she clutched the amulet, her breathing slowly calming. Angel's presence was a relief, but things weren’t over yet. As Angel stayed by Tsukina's side, Rose and Angel began a playful sparring nearby, pushing each other to the limit as a demonstration of strength and skill.
Unbeknownst to them, Serenity, hidden in the shadows of the training ground, watched closely. Her eyes gleamed with malice as she waited for the right moment. She had been tracking Rose and her allies for days, and tonight, she made her move. A thin, nearly invisible gas seeped into the air around Rose, a subtle but deadly trick from Serenity’s arsenal.
The moment the gas hit, Rose’s power began to malfunction. Her holy light, usually controlled and precise, flared out uncontrollably. A wave of light burst forth, too bright, too powerful. Angel was caught in the blast. The light seared her skin, the holy energy critically burning her in an instant. Angel let out a scream of agony, falling to the ground, her skin raw and weakened.
"Angel!" Rose yelled, her voice frantic. She rushed to her sister’s side, trying to help, but in her panic, her powers only made things worse. Each touch, each attempt to heal, sent more light through Angel, amplifying her pain. Rose’s eyes filled with horror as she watched her friends body start to shut down. Angel’s breathing grew shallow, and within moments, she lost consciousness—permanently.
"No... no, no, no," Rose whispered, her hands trembling as she tried to wake her . But it was too late. Angel lay still, unresponsive, her body battered by the power meant to protect her.
